Seminar on the Challenges in the Circular Economy Transition in Bangladesh’s Apparel Industry
After the completion of the PhD program and two rounds of factory visits and stakeholders’ interviews CREATE-project seminar was held on the Challenges in Circular Economy Transition in Bangladesh’s Apparel Industry on 9th August, 2023 at Six Seasons Hotel, Dhaka. In the seminar, certificates of the PhD Course were distributed among the students. The course was approved by the PhD School at Aalborg University, Denmark. It was a pleasure to have Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of AUST, in the seminar as the chief guest. All the key stakeholders, both national and global, in the Apparel industry attended the seminar.
Project Leader Dr. Mohammad B. Rana, Associate Professor at Aalborg University Business School (AAUBS), Denmark, presented the keynote paper on the Challenges in Circular Economy Transition in Bangladesh’s Apparel Industry.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of AUST, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, gave his speech followed by a reflection by Emeritus Professor Olav Jull Sørensen at AAUBS and a senior Research Fellow at Access2Innovation, Denmark.
The program was anchored by Prof. Dr. Shafiul Alam, AUST, Deputy Coordinator, CREATE project.
Dr. Imranul Hoque, JnU, Deputy Coordinator, PhD Course, also give his valuable speech on this seminar.
The second phase of this event was dedicated on certificate giving to the PhD Students completed the PhD course successfully. Dr. Imranul Hoque, researcher at CREATE and deputy coordinator of the PhD course, presented his reflection on the organization of the PhD course and the impact that the course is likely to make in research and capacity development in Bangladeshi academic arena.
A total of 19 participants were highly satisfied on the quality of the course and have enjoyed the closing dinner with lots of fun.
