Presentation of CREATE Research Findings at the Chinese Academy of Sciences National Congress 2023 in Beijing, China

In 2023, Dr. Mohammad B. Rana, leader of the CREATE project, presented the project’s research findings at the national congress of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Beijing. His presentation focused on the challenges and future prospects of circular economy transition within global apparel value chains. Dr. Rana was invited by the Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASISD), one of China’s leading think tanks in innovation and development research, to participate in a high-level panel discussion at the congress. He joined the panel as one of three invited specialists discussing sustainability, innovation, and circular economy transitions. The visit provided Dr. Rana with the opportunity to gain insights into China’s circular economy transition, firms’ capabilities, the role of the state, and the technological developments underpinning the creation of circular ecosystems in China.
